In 2019, Cuba Gooding Jr. was charged with sexual assault after an incident in New York’s Times Square. Gooding allegedly groped a woman at a bar. This set off a massive chain reaction in which Gooding was booked on multiple charges of sexual abuse. Ultimately, 22 women came forward to accuse Gooding of inappropriate sexual touching and groping. Three of those allegations resulted in formal charges against him. He initially pleaded not guilty to each charge.

In April 2022, Cuba pleaded guilty to a charge of forcible touching related to an incident at a New York nightclub in 2018. Under the terms of a plea agreement, Gooding will continue to undergo six months of treatment with alcohol and behavior that he entered for the first time in 2019. If he does not complete treatment or is arrested for this activity, he could be required to serve a year in prison.

Personal life
