Charlize Theron was born an only child in Benoni, South Africa on August 7, 1975. Her first language is Afrikaans, although she is also fluent in English. In 2007, Charlize created the Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project (CTAOP), a mission to support young Africans in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
